Slipper Island Resort - Island Getaway near Tauranga
Slipper Island Resort is on Slipper Island, 3 kilometers east of the Coromandel Peninsula and 8 kilometers southeast of Pauanui. The resort makes up 95% of the 224-hectare island. Guests have access to beaches for swimming, kayaking and snorkeling. The island includes a working sheep and cow farm with animals including horses and alpacas. Dining is self-catering with kitchen facilities and BBQs available. The island has walking trails and views of the mainland and Pacific Ocean. Slipper Island is 100 km from Tauranga. There are two active defibrillators on the Island.

The resort offers chalets and tents. Chalet options include one-bedroom chalets with a king bed, gas stove, fridge, kitchen utensils, and a BBQ on the deck. Two-bedroom chalets feature a queen bed, a single bed, a king bed, a wood stove in the living room, a gas stove, a fridge, kitchen utensils, and a BBQ on the deck. Glamping tents have two rooms, a queen-size bed, an ensuite toilet, basin and shower, and a covered deck with a BBQ. Safari tents offer a queen-size bed, a bunk bed, a kitchen, a large BBQ, a small bar fridge, an inside flush toilet, a sink, and a shower.
